Having read my way through my childhood and teenage years, I finally decided to write my first novel at 18. That novel will probably never see the light of day, but it did make me determined to become a writer. After studying songwriting and music performance at university, and returning to Suffolk to set up a music tuition business, I finally decided to get serious about my writing dream.
My manuscript GUITARS, BRAS AND HEADING FOR THE STARS, about four high-schoolers who form a rock band, enter a competition, and take down the school bullies, was chosen by Anna Mainwaring, author of YA novels 'Rebel with a Cupcake' and 'Tulip Taylor', for the WriteMentor 2020 Summer Mentoring Programme. GUITARS, BRAS AND HEADING FOR THE STARS also received a reader’s report after only very narrowly missing out on the 2020 Times Chicken House competition top 15 longlist. In early 2021, my YA contemporary FIZZ LAKER, TROUBLED was chosen twice for the kid reader favourites of WMCNA 2021, and my flash fiction has been shortlisted twice for the WriteMentor Magazine flash competition, including receiving an honourable mention in the November 2020 edition.
My current novel is a YA spy thriller with speculative elements titled AGENT ALPHA.
I am represented by Joanna Moult of Skylark Literary.
